International Attendees
Films are available in the U.S. only. Due to rights restrictions, most products cannot be gifted, transferred, or redeemed outside of the United States. Please review our ticketing page for more information.
If you reside outside of the United States and are having issues completing your purchase for in-person passes, packages, or tickets, please contact sundancesupport@sundance.org.
Attending as a Group
If you’re planning to experience the Festival with a group (such as your partner or family), we recommend that each member of your party has their tickets in their account. If you choose to have one member of your party hold on to the tickets for everyone, please be aware that voting for films will not be possible for individuals without a ticket in their account. Additionally, groups cannot be seated without all members of the party present.
Ticketing FAQ
Certain ticketing products are subject to specific purchase limits, proof of age or location, or may be nontransferable. For all gifts/transfers, please ensure that you have the recipient’s correct email address. Below are some frequently asked ticketing questions.
How Can I Tell if a Film Is Sold Out?
If you have Favorited a film that is now sold out, your “My Festival Schedule” dashboard will have a grayed-out button “SOLD OUT (INFO)” in place of where you would normally be able to click “ORDER TICKETS.”
Why Can’t I Add More Packages to My Cart?
Most package types, such as the Festival Package and Express Pass (Second Half), are limited to two per account and can be gifted or transferred. The Locals Package, Salt Lake City Pass, and Ignite Package are limited to one per account and cannot be gifted or transferred.
Why am I Being Prompted to Send a Product as a Gift?
There is a limit of two of any package type per account. You are allowed to purchase or use up to 10 tickets to a specific screening, but you are only allowed to keep one ticket for yourself. You will be prompted to gift any extra tickets at checkout.
Why Isn’t My Promo Code Working?
Promo codes have a variety of restrictions, so please read the fine print on the promo code you are trying to use. Promo codes are also case-sensitive and subject to limited quantities. If you are seeing an error stating that the maximum number of uses has been met, then your promo code is no longer available.
What Form of Payment Is Accepted?
The Festival will be cashless (no physical money) and tickets, merchandise, and any other Festival product purchases will be transacted digitally.
Ticket selections will begin in early January.
Packageholders must make a ticket selection to secure a seat at least one (1) hour before a screening begins. If you are a Single Film Ticketholder, your ticket is your ticket selection, and no further action is required. Passholders do not need to make ticket selections. Seating is limited and is not guaranteed, so please be in the appropriate line at least 45 minutes prior to a screening’s start time.
Make your ticket selections early. All screenings — both in-person and online — are limited in capacity.
How to Secure Your Seat at a Screening
- Sign in to your Sundance Film Festival account on your web browser and click “Program” at the top of the page. Here, you can explore the Film Program Guide menus, download the program as a PDF, or use the “Search the Program” tool and search by filter.
- Click on the film detail page of the film you would like to see.
- Select the “+ Favorite” option next to the screening of your choice. Important: Favoriting a film is not the same as selecting a ticket.
- Click on “My Festival Schedule” (the calendar icon) in the upper right main navigation.
- Scroll down to “Favorite Screenings and Events” and click the “Get Tickets” button next to the film of your choice. If a screening is sold out, there will be a grayed-out button next to sold-out Favorited films labeled “SOLD OUT (INFO)” in place of where you would normally order tickets.
- Make your quick-order selection from the drop-down menu. The transaction fee should be $0.00.
- Agree to the terms in the checkout pop-up window to proceed.
- Review your order and click the “Buy ($0.00)” button to finalize your selection.
- Enter your phone number to receive your tickets by text (optional). Select the “Go Back” button to exit.
Note: You must have a valid ticketing product in your account to make a ticket selection.
How to Get on the Waitlist
If an in-person screening is not available for selection, you can add yourself to the Waitlist. Online screenings cannot be waitlisted. For more information, read How to Join a Waitlist.
Build your 2025 Festival schedule by favoriting films and screening times in the Festival Program Guide. Tap the ☆ icon next to a specific film or film screening time on a film’s detail page to add to your My Favorites page.
Favoriting films helps you organize the films you want to see. Go to My Schedule and click on the My Favorites tab to see a list of your Favorited films. If you’d like to make a ticket selection or buy a single film ticket for a film you’ve Favorited, go to My Schedule and find it in the Favorites section.
Note: Packageholders, you do not need to Favorite a film to make ticket selections. Click here to read more information about how to make a ticket selection.

There are several ways to transfer purchases. In each instance, the recipient will receive an email confirming the transfer, along with any required next steps such as setting up an account to accept the transfer. When transferring a ticketing product, verify that you are using the recipient’s correct email address prior to transfer.
Important: Feature films are available in the U.S. only. Due to rights restrictions, most products cannot be gifted, transferred, or redeemed outside of the United States. Please review our ticketing page for more information.
